The general topic of this presentation focuses on the acquisition and reconstruction of physical surfaces by mean of a ribbon device equipped with micro-sensors, providinggeodesic curves running on the surface. The whole process involves thereconstruction of these 3D ribbon curves together with their global treatmentso as to produce a consistent network for the geodesic surface interpolationby specific filling methods based on Coons-like approaches. This problem of reconstructing surfaces from unstructured orientation data is clearly ill-posed. However, our previous works allowed us to set up a valid reconstruction protocol.So as to be optimal, the ribbon curve reconstruction has to integrate the orientation informations provided by the sensors in their entirety, as well as the mechanical properties of the ribbon that force it to follow geodesic curves on a surface. This last point will be at the heart of this talk.

Luc Biard教授,男,1957 年出生,国籍法国。1990 年在Joseph Fourier University 获得博士学位,2007年-2008年在美国Universityof California at Davis 与计算机辅助几何设计(CAGD)专家Rida T. Farouki合作研究。现为法国Joseph Fourier 大学教授,Laboratoire Jean Kuntzmann实验室几何造型与多分辨率图像(MGMI)组负责人,长期从事CAGD 等领域的研究,在《JCAM》,《CAD》,《CAGD》等相关学术期刊发表论文30 余篇。
